Many people have emailed us about it and we’ve seen plenty of requests on the forums; people want a copy of the Fable II map of Albion! And as you know, when our community asks, we deliver.

So we asked our artists to render a copy of the Albion map for the web and here is what they came up with. It’s in huge quality so can be printed to put on your wall in Ultra High Definition.

DOWNLOAD ALBION MAP (beware it’s a whopping 40MB!)

And for those of you that aren’t able to download all 40MB, or able to view .tiff images, we have got a low res and hi res version of it here on Fable FanBoy.

Fable 2 Machinima – Hals Armor Legend

Fable 2 Machinima – Hals Armor Legend

If you ask me, this is pretty bad ass. An explanation of Hals Armor.

We spotted this on our forums SinZero of ViKarious Productions presents the first (for real?) Fable II Machinima!

SinZero: “We just recently remastered the prologue to our Hals Odyssey machinima Series and Have signed with machinima.com to make videos to put on their channel. If you have not seen or heard of Hals Odyssey I will give you the basic run down of the story.

As most of you know it is possible to get “Hals Armor” in the fable II game. My parter and I decided to make a series explaining how that armor came to be and the legend behind it. This story Follows a spartan named Hal Martel who stumbles upon a mysterious portal while running away from a mob of elites after the rest of his squad was killed (yes I know very Original right?). Seeing the portal as his only option he jumps through and ends up in the Fable universe.

Now you might be asking. “OMG though how you make machinima with the camera on Fable 2?!”

Well honestly it was extremely difficult. We have figured out a way to capture some great camera angles and this is only a trailer but we promise that the camera will not hinder us and in episode 2 we will have actual Fable II footage.

You can find Prelude to Exodus on YouTube, more episodes to come.

Oh and before I forget, here are an additional 30 codes for the Fable II Pub Games!

January 15th, 2009

Jan 13th 2009 announced the launch date of the Knothole Island DLC for Fable II (hopefully we’ll be lookging forward to more DLC). Its been 2 days since then and the reviews are coming in, I would like to believe that the majority of people are content and happy with the DLC. I know after my first play through of it I was quit pleased.

Today, after the beating I got, I’ve been playing Knothole Island and resting on the sofa at home. Got the Gargoyle Treasure and The Menace To Society achievement.

Xbox360fanboy is giving away a code for the DLC in their Fanswag Weekly. Follow the clear instructions on their page.

As spotted on our forums, Kotaku is reporting that a special rifle is to be found on Knothole Island. Spoiler alert, don’t click the previous two links.

TeamXbox is sporting their review of Knothole Island. “Knothole Island is a great bit of downloadable content, not only for providing some fresh adventures but also fixing, or giving you the opportunity to fix some of the things you might have thought were wrong with the main game. If you’re a fan of the game, you’ll have to have it, and it’s unlikely you’ll be disappointed. Knothole Island is a great example of how good DLC can be.

Gameplanet.co.nz also posted a review (click this link) “The Fable II downloadable content is a must-have for anyone who was looking for a reason to pick up Fable II again. Three new quests, a range of new items and weapons, as well as some great augments make the experience worthwhile. It certainly could have been longer, as it will only give you two or three hours of gameplay, but hopefully there will be further DLC in the future.

If you have finished the Quests on Knothole Island, found all the items and if you think you’ve seen everything there is to see, click this link.

Poor Lionhead… the harsh critics never let up on them, yet they don’t give up… keep up the good fight guys!

There have been hundreds of people sending us emails, complaining and even threatening us because something happened to their faithful dog. Obviously I don’t want to spoil the Fable II story for anyone who hasn’t finished the main story yet, so I’m not going to go into the details. A beloved editor of gaming blog Kotaku (who will not be named) even has been sending me multiple emails claiming “I am not talking to you people. You made me sacrifice my puppy for the greater good.

Since the DLC Knothole Island will be hitting Xbox LIVE marketplace tomorrow, I wanted to draw the attention to the following bullet point from the site;

  • Unravel the mystical secrets of the resurrection shrine.

Now I’m not going to spoil Knothole Island for you either, so while I can’t really say a thing (or the infamous PR police will hunt me down and kill me to death), I think it’d be fair to say that you won’t be playing Knothole Island without a trusty friend on four legs….

Clear enough? Gna gna gna!

Fable II Title Update release and Tales of Albion

January 12th, 2009

Fable has really had a rough start… First the sliming down of the LCE package and now people are having untold amounts of problems with the game. Lionhead has recently release a patch for the game that fixes alot of the major issues people have been having. Below Sam gives us a brief list of what some of the fixes are.

Today there was a Title Update (aka patch) for Fable II, fixing the issues that were reported on our forums and that we could reproduce. Below is a list I’ve mentioned earlier, I’ll try and get additional information regarding other fixes and report those when I find out.

There has also been an update to Tales of Albion with the addition of Knothole Island. You can now find it on the Albion map in Today’s Travels.

- The Ritual/Monk’s Quest – Fixed the issue with the Abbott becoming unresponsive if you leave Oakfield before he finishes talking. This will fix the problem if you’ve already hit it, too.

- Rescuing Charlie/Rescue My Baby – after rescuing Charlie, you can now able to interact with objects

- Guild Cave chest – resolves any issues with previously inability to retrieve items unlocked from Limited Collector’s Edition, website or Chicken Kickin’ game. If you’ve already hit this bug you should now get your items.

- The Spire (Pt2) – no more issues with ship captain being unresponsive

- The Hero of Skill (Pirate King) – you’ll no longer get stuck during Hero of Skill quest (Bloodstone)

- T.O.B.Y./Trouble In Bloodstone – you’ll no longer get stuck during T.O.B.Y. quests (Bloodstone)

- Your child – will no longer be chosen as an assassination target

- Furniture Shop in Albion (Bowerstone) will now always have something for sale

- Additional unspecified fixes
